It's really hard to answer the question. In my opinion it more depends on when the mantis became adult than it does with the actual mating. But studies do show males are more inclined to mate with virgin females if you're interested in that.

Keep in mind there are also a bunch of other variables to consider. Like food intake, temperature, places to lay. Etc...

Well i had a t. sinensis female that mated the day before she layed. The first ooth never hatched. A month later, she layed another one, which hatched.
