Hi all-
I've been weaning myself off of mantids as of late and haven't been to the forum much except to lurk and show off my cat, the reason being that I am going to be vacationing for about 3 weeks in Europe coming up from April 25 to May 15.
I will be arriving firstly in Paris, and then visiting around in a clockwise circle for two weeks of the adventure, traveling with only a backpack and a camera.
I was curious to see if anyone lived in any of the popular capital cities and had the availability to let me sleep on a couch or anything of the like.
I am involved with "couchsurfing project 2.0" and have been planning to stay with a number of members in Belgium, Netherlands, and some of Germany, and I also have a friends son that lives in near Prague that I will be staying with.
Finding people through couchsurfing is really no hassle for me, but I thought it would be cool if there were any guys or gals here that would put up with me for a night or two and we could bond over our love of creepy crawlies.
The areas I plan to visit that I don't currently have solid plans for are as follows: Munich or Frankfurt, Germany (already have plans for Berlin)... Vienna, Austria... Bern, Switzerland... Rome, Italy... or honestly I'm open for suggestions (I wasn't planning to see Prague until I heard about my acquaintance there).
I plan to visit as many Museums of Natural History as I can, especially Vienna, and Zoo's, as well as the night life.
I will be leaving from France approximately April 28 and traveling to May 12 via train (I bought a Eurail pass for 450$... ouch!) and working my way around clockwise through the countries. Other than that I wouldn't know the exact date I would be in each city until closer to my departure, I think it will depend on how much I get distracted (in a good way).
As far as myself - I'm a skinny white American 25 year old boy (am I a man yet?) from Orlando. I also speak French!
I can provide whatever feedback / references from Mantidforum, Pangea forums, ebay, couchsurfing, etc. you would feel comfortable with.
Cheers,
Warren
