Well last year, about this time, I took a break from the hobby. I took a break because I lost almost all my mantis innovatory ($450 worth) in a month. I still do not know why that happened. The only species I had left was a pair of Tarachodes sp. that I had been raising for a few months. It is safe to say that that very pair is what kept me in the hobby after such a loss. Well that pair happened to make it to the adult stage, and I was able to breed them (hence all the tarachodes I've been selling lately). The male dies within 24 hrs of mating  and the female has lived this whole time, until today. She laid many many ooths and lived for an amazing 15 months! Well she laid her last ooth last night and today she is gone. I'll miss here but it is a good thing I have a freshly molted adult pair (as of Friday) and more on the way.
The Tarachodes, sp. is my favorite sp. and I will dearly miss that female because she is what kept me in the hobby during the break. I plan to continue breeding this species as long as I can (even if I only have the time breed one species while in college )
