Hi,I've read on the book "keeping aliens" that if a male and a female of mantis ready to mate are in the same room it is possible that male are get accostumed by female's pheromons..what are your opinions and your experiences?

My Stagmomantis carolinas have all been raised in containers next to each other since birth and the males are almost always ready.

I don't think that in a well ventilated room it is likely to happen very often, but I have put an unwilling male in a different room for a few days and sometimes had success on reintroducing the pair and sometimes not. It is so easy to try, though, that if you think that this applies to yr pair then you should give it a try and then let us know what happens. More common barriers to mating, though, are that one partner has become adult too recently, that the female is underfed or that temp/humidity are too low.
