I don't know why it's taken me so long to try this:
A few minutes ago, I decided to have Nikki Mantis celebrate Thanksgiving a day early. Took a cricket-sized sliver of no-salt deli turkey (for sandwiches, not the actual bird) and put it to her mandibles.
She tasted for a few seconds, then grabbed it from my fingers and polished the rest off quickly.
Yes, I know a processed meat may be a risky feed. But I'm very surprised she excepted this dead meat (she's very well fed, otherwise). Has anyone else experimented with unorthodox feeds like this (and not seen unhealthy side-effects?).
