My female orchid, now a L7, (which is a sub-adult, right?) just molted a bit unexpectedly. The pic speaks for itself (it was taken at 4:00 in the morning, so sorry for the bad quality)

She just molted 18 days ago, and I wasn’t expecting her to molt for at least another few days or so. I got her as a L4, she molted in shipping, and then molted to L6 at least 23 or 24 days later. So I was expecting the molt to be next week.

Anyway, it was a very good molt, and she’s still nearly perfect. Her only flaw is that her right/front leg lobe is a little rough around the edges, but that is a small cosmetic issue, and it doesn’t bother me at all. (I’m hyped that I’ve been able to raise her successfully so far)

Now it’s the male’s turn (currently a L4, and still very adorable ?)

Well, isn’t today just full of surprises. The little male just molted to subadult. So now they are perfectly aligned to breed.

Today is a good day ?

Congratz on the molts! You are doing a great job with them. She is beautiful!

@Little Mantis

The female’s name is Lilly, and the male’s name is “The Male” (never named him so I wouldn’t get too attached, in case breeding doesn’t go well ?)
