My mantis all of a sudden just vibrated and shook for two seconds long..... I was shocked and curious of about what was going on? IS it sick or scared. It has happened to me before.

Sometimes they do that, it seems like a normal behavior to me. It happens more often when they get close to molting. However I have seen them do it when they weren't near molting. Perhaps it is some kind if defense mechanism that they do when they are disturbed or startled?

Yah, she is a sub adult and has been like that for at least a month and a half with at least two crickets every other day. Is she going to molt soon

My Mendicas shake a lot right before they molted to an adult. The female fooled me and was shaking the night before. So, I waited up for a couple of hours in the middle of the night and finally went to bed when she settled down. She was really shaking the next night and did molt then.

YAY but she caught a cricket this morning and a least 7 or 8 hours later was when I noticed the strange vibrating..... I am so I excited cause she will be my first mantis that I ever had that will have wings..... Is there still a chance of molting
