Hey guys,

All violin ooths i have ever seen are brownish, and every ooth i have ever had were kind of hardish. But my violin just laid her second in a row that has staid white, and if you touch it, it flakes off. Anyone know what's wrong?

This foam always come with the ooth when laid.It insulates and protect the ooth from overheating and moisture.Flies love this kind of meringue so it s not unusual to see a violin ooth without its white foam,Plus as you said it come off very easily. The smell reminds me of chemical glue or like the liquid some millipedes use as protection against predators.

So nothing s wrong unless that foam becomes solid.

Last thing!Careful it makes you cough like heck!!

Well that means you never touched it.The white foam is not an indicator of fertility.

My old ones are turning yellow to grey.If it does not hatch after 2 month it is unfertile for sure.

Agent h, thank u for telling me something I already know :p

I'm preserving it cause it looks cool

The female did mate at the end of her life but she was eggbound and died last Easter :(
