well I have 3 female gongy's and one male, I kept the male and females seperate till the females were well over 3 weeks adult and the male was 2-3 weeks adult, then I put the male will the oldest female on there own for a couple of day's but never witnessed them mate, so I tried the same with the 2nd oldest female and again nothing. then I put the male in with all 3 females that are very well fed, and again never saw them mate, but 6 days in one of the females(don't know which one) killed and ate half the male in the middle of the night. so now I have three giant females and no male. has anyone else had this happen? and does anyone have a adult male they can spare? I am willing to split the ooth's if you want, or just buy him or them outright. I'm going to go back to the one on one way from now on. :(

I'm so bummed, months and months of care and $$$ to end up this way. :( :poop: :(

Yep! Last week. I put my one male in with a female in a 12" cube, and "off with his head!" This happens to all of us all of the time. Cheer up!

That last sentence is possibly the number one negative with breeding mantids. I''m sorry for your loss though, hope you get some males.

Thanks guys (and girls :flowers: ) for your support ;) . I guess I'll chalk it up as a loss and a lesson learned! like even violins eat each other(who knew)

but I'm still hopeing someone has a male or two for me :)
