Hello guys, i was wondering if anyone has notes on how long gongys take for maturing in between molts, like how in Sporeworld's idolo topic he has his and precarious' data. I received mine almost two months ago as L2's. They then molted the next day (all three of them). They have since molted once on september 5th. They are currently L4 and eating like beasts, so i know they are getting the right nutrition, and they are in 94 degrees (F) temps. I was wondering if mine are taking a long time or if Violins are just a slow paced maturing species?

Thanks,

-Paul

You can increase temp to 100°C if you want them to molt faster.

It is a matter of metabolism. The closest they get to adulthood the longer they take to molt. Also the death rate decreases as Gongylus are growing up.

100C doesn't water boil at that temp?

Well, it's at 98 now. Hopefully it increases it, I'm trying to get a breeding colony started. I am trying to stagger it so that i have nymphs of different stages. So i have two males and a female at L4, i will purchase a sexed adult pair soon, so i will have L1's and L5's at the same time.

I Hope that your 98 are in Fahrenheits and not Celsius, otherwise you would be cooking your ooth, lol
