This is my first and only Wahlbergii. What instar and sex do you think it is? I'm guessing L4, maybe L5, and male. I had no idea they were so small.

I'd agree - L4-L5. Yeah, they are much smaller than I thought, too. I have a sub that's about half the size I thought they'd be.

I love those little bulbs on the antennae. I wonder what purpose they serve. They disappear in later instars.

i say female since the smooth end of the abdomen is long

males have 2 tiny spikes on the last segment...
Thanks for the info. He does have the two spikes on the end. This is about the only photo I took where you don't see them.
 
Looks like a male to me. I do not see what Alex mentioned. I know that the males antennae are tapered and have ridges like a stack of rings.

 
Yes, he is a male. He's been an adult for a couple of months and no ooths, so that's how I can tell. :) I've already posted it in another thread, but this is a more recent pic of him.
