I REALLY want to transfer to this school. I would be pretty heart broken if I weren't accepted. It's close to home and it's a really good school too. Just looking at the courses offered makes me happy. The school is super selective though, and I have a fear that I won't be accepted.

My stats:

Here's what I have: 3.95 HS GPA*

~3.75 expected college GPA

4.0 math/science GPA

A+ Program recipient*

28 ACT *

Student Senate member at my college

I've won a few minor essay contests

Possible (not confirmed yet) summer isn't ship at Missouri Botanical Garden

*do these matter for transferring?

What do you think I could work on that would help me get accepted? I plan to transfer in Spring 2014. Any tips or contacts would also be appreciated.

Extracurricular help A LOT! See if you can get a little more in there...and community service helps too ...get some of that too... (sorry, lol, it sounds like I'm making food *add some of this, a little of that...etc*

All the best;

Andrew

Check with Washington University about ACT scores. Usually if you have more than 2 or 3 semesters worth of credit you don't need to submit the ACT or SAT scores to transfer. And like AndrewNisip said volunteer or community service goes a long way in the eyes of admissions. It can be the determining factor between you and someone with similar G.P.A. Volunteer at a homeless shelter. Or start your own not-for-profit. That would get you accepted into Heaven at least. Which at that point who needs college if your going to heaven? I would just find a noble way to go like saving some babies from a burning building. Or breaking some guys suicide fall from the 20th floor with your body.

Hope this helps little buddy. Good luck :balloon:

WSU is cool, but I lean more towards UW. I mean, its in Seattle, one of the best cities in the world. But WSU is cool too.

Maybe you could talk to other students that have been accepted and see if they have any suggestions. You look pretty good on paper, but like the others said anything else you can do to boost how you appear would probably help. Good luck.

I went to a private school. The application process was grueling and despite a 4.2GPA and strong SAT, and Battalion CMDR ROTC I was rejected three times due to not enough community and extra curriculars, so they go a LONG way. My fourth time around I had a mikitary enlistment under my belt and a lot of volunteer work and humanity projects specific to my field of study. If you are worried your GPA might trip you up I wouldn't. I have seen top schools here accept 3.0 and even 2.8 as long as the community service and extra curriculars made up for it. Good luck!

My school admits students solely based on a portfolio. All academic/extracurricular achievements are completely disregarded.
