I saw the curious little turtles in one of Rick's Breeding Pics and wondered how many people throw their dead or dying mantids to turtles or even fish? I imagine the turtles in the pic were saying, "Hey, lady! You gonna finish that?"

Seems like several fish or baby turtles could be eatting leftover fruit flies (or HF or BB's).

Mostly just morbidly curious...

I have fed dying mantids to my lizards. I can't stand watching them when they slowly deteriorate. :( I would rather feed them to something, than to check on them every day to see if they have "completely died yet".

I've fed mismolted mantids to bigger mantids. I actually had to feed a mismolted L4/L5 Chinese mantis to my L5 Ghost. I was surprised he actually went for it, seeing as the Chinese was bigger than him!

If I had frogs or reptiles that would eat mantids, I would probably feed the old and dying ones to them.

Either that or to larger mantids. My turtles love a mantis snack.
