One of my Empusa females has some serious issues with pooping - it looks like diarrhea, which should not happen with matids. Moreover, she often grabs prey, just to let it go seconds afterwards, without eating or after taking just a single bite...

Anyone here had similar problems?

Yep, many times. Seems to usually go away. Try changing what you're feeding.

I am in no way representing this as what to do, just merely passing info for info's sake.

When folks get disentary, they get dehydrated.

A field remedy would be to mix charcoal with water, and drink it.

I thought of this and then I thought about how the feed/nutrient schedule usually lists the ash content. Not quite the same but maybe some correlation to keeping proper gut contents for proper stool... just wondering, or would that be wandering :)

I'll try to give her more water, I noticed that when she was a nymph, she would drink BIG droplets dry.

charcoal for a mantis? Hmmm, I dunno, kinda don't want to take a rist with one of my only two females...

Mantids are not people and in no way are like people inside or out. You have to remember these are insects and there really isn't much you can do if one is sick.

She is almost 10 days old - her abdomen is still flat, she still grabs flies only to release them seconds later... I don't know what is wrong with her. At least her poo is less watery as of late...

Are you possitive she just has watery poo. She could also be vomitiing. All the simptoms you descibed often happen to me when my mantids have that reddish/brown nasty smelling puke sickness.
