What eggs do these belong to?

There are many of these found under logs and rotting wood here in NJ. One friend suggested these were slug eggs. Most eggs are found in clustered clutches, but I also find single eggs too.

They are more commonly found in very hard to reach crevices of rotting wood...

 
They look like the rhino beetle eggs I had. Maybe they are some kind of beetle eggs. Here is a picture of rhino beetle eggs.
