Found a wild mantis nymph weeks ago and its shed a few more times so wanted to get an ID of it,should be atleast L6 or so now but I'm not sure because I found it in the yard, but it is about to moult again as you'll see. I've been told it is most likely one of the Stagmomantids but want to know for sure which of those subspecies it is. I live in MD,and is the first I've seen like this. In the pics it is just under 2 inches probably an inch and a half or so,and now has black markings on the inner arms,a pink bellow, and yellow claw colorings.

ignore the bad pics, these were the ones where you could see the parts not the images I'll stack for posting...

inverted the full shots so itd be upright, she? is close to moulting I know, which is why I wanted to get some before she was bigger tomorrow, put her back, should be adult in no time. Thinking it is the Stagmomantis Californica or similiar...

I've found S. carolinas here so I know they are definitely heavy here, just never seen one look like this, hope this one stays green then, the others I've found were that mottled orangey brown

The first Carolina I ever saw was green. The ones I keep in captivity always end up brown, but the ones I find in the wild are green.

Females have at least three different color morphs.

Yeah the ones I've kept from the wild before have all been brown females, would be awesome to keep this one as a green adult then, little sad its not a new species but she is prettiest carolina I've seen here so far
