my creobroter and new zealand mantids need remating and im just wondering how many fertile ooths i'll get out of them.

they've both layed 3 so far.

nice :) so even if my mantis has only been mated once, she could lay say 8 ooths and theyd all be fertile? the last ones would have less nymphs in obviously.

I think the maximum for me was about 10 for a single mated P. virescens Gambian Spotted-Eye Flower mantis.

One M. religiosa had 5 fertile ooths from a single mating. And that's way more by egg count.

Yes. Sometimes you will find the later ooths have a lower hatch rate.

i have another question. my creobroter gemmatus ooth hatched this morning (her first ooth). it only hatched 15 nymphs.

does this mean all her other ooths that i have will have low hatch rates and does this mean she needs remating?

I suppose it wouldn't hurt? That seems like a kind of low hatch rate for a creobroter sp. I thought they were typically in the 30+ area? I'll have to find out when my ooth hatches :D
