 Just wondering what the worse thing that ever happened to an ooth you were waiting on?

I just took out this last week a stick I had in the ghost enclosure and laid on a table to wait for glue gun to heat up.... in the mean time the old wood stove was cold and out and being really cold here the night before, I thought I would fire the old baby up and have some thawing of me toes,,, I also had drywall hangers coming to work on the new Bugatorium and was hurrying because drywall paste does not set to well in the 20s F. I got so busy with getting in kindling and trying to get it going, while walking past the table I saw the stick and thought " self, hummm wonder why that perfectly good stick is laying there, and promptly picked it up and threw it in the pile of kindling    . Before long the fire was blazing and the poor drywall guys had shut the door cause now they were hot, and I saw the glue gun on and thought, I better go glue those ooooooootttttttttttttttthhhhhhhhhhhhhhhsssssssssss! whaaaaaaaaa :(  guess what happened to all those ghost ooths!I just gotta get some rest!

Whats your story?

HA ha you threw it in the wood stove? Can't say I have ever done anything like that. I think I have stepped on one before or forgot one sitting out and it hatched.

 I surely did! guilty as charged. I was real tired once and was clipping the ooths off of the twigs and caught myself throwing the ooths in the garbage and keeping the sticks! Do u remember that post Rick?

Yep. Sounds like you need a break.

I think that members of this species are called ghosts because their ooths tend to come to bizarre and untimely ends. After having left ooths out or not checked them often enough, I now keep them in a tray by my chair, where I can check them regularly. Last Saturday, though, I started putting some together to send to Katt, including a ghost ooth that had been sired by Superman. I checked the others regularly and nothing happened, but yesterday I found that the one I had set aside had hatched and all of the babies were dead. At least we know now that Superman has the Right Stuff, but I had trouble sleeping last night with all the high pitched moaning and wailing coming from the area of the unfortinate ooth.

And that's all I have to say about that.

Well, at least you said something this time! :p

LOL @ Olga's post...

Hmmm... maybe we should give him a break though... he is old.

Rebecca... Hmmm.... burning and throwing your ooths away. That could almost make a person cry! Maybe multi-tasking isn't such a good idea when you're tired and working with your bugs/ooths! :p

Haven't had anything like that happen (yet... knock on wood!). But I too had one start hatching on my desk before I thought it would. Luckily I noticed it and glued it up before it got too far! ;)

Sorry folks, and welcome to the world of Chrome (Google, Chrome, that is, Not Huxley's Chrome Yellow or Gibson's Burning Chrome) This site remains hexed for me on Firefox on this machine and I can't stand IE, so I brought up the Chrome browser, just for this, and see how it rewards me!

Get those phasmids off your face, Superfreak, and straighten up, or I'll tell your mum! (Actually that is a very cute pic. You look as though you're afraid that you're going to sneeze! :) )

You need to live where it's warm Rebecca. I have put the A/C unit on a couple nights so I can snuggle up and still be comfy. It's almost midnight here, and I have not heated my place in several weeks, and it's 76 degrees in here :) and I just closed the front door about twenty minutes ago :) I do miss the smell of a good wood stove burning nice wood though on a cold, crisp evening walk. I used to live in the mountains.

My dad is a couple years younger than Phil, and complains cause nobody lets him finish his sentences, but he speaks very slowly, like he's dreaming and talking in his sleep sometimes. Are you awake Phil :)

My worse thing is the ooths just sat in the fridge, or is that just sit in the fridge :)

I know someone who delayed incubating his ooths. He kept them in the garage and never checked on them. When he finally did, they had all hatched and all died except for three.
