ok when a ooth is laid by a female is it possible to breed her again as i got a female gemmatus that finally laid a ooth after a few weeks of owning it and she had laid her first ooth and wondererd if i can breed that female again to make more or would it be not adviseable to do so?Is it normal for say a gemmatus mantis to go a few weeks without laying anything then to start to lay a ooth and i have no idea if she was mated before i got her or anything?

Do you mean you have already breed her once, and want to breed her again? Or do you mean you purchased her as an adult and she laid you an ooth and you don't know weather or not it's fertile? Well, either way you can mate her even if she has already laid an ooth. I would ask the breeder if she was mated before you purchased her.

no i never breeded her as of yet so prob a infertile ooth but not sure though i just got a male to do some breeding though and tried to actually breed him with her but she was not ready and such but just today she laid her first ooth so maybe its one of those infertile ones but will keep onto it for a month to see what happens and will attempt to mate my female with the male i just obtained!

Of course you can. You can breed her every day if you wanted to. One mating is good enough to produce fertile ooths for the rest of her lift. Often the last ooths to be laid won't produce as many nymphs. I normally mate before the first ooth and then once more after she lays a few.

Oh jee. I didn't know that. I always thought of breeding as the whole process... like a mantis breeder (or dog/cat/horse breeder) doesn't only make/cause two animals/insects mate, but he also feeds, raises, and cares for them and for multiple generations. At least that's how I would define it.
