when can I mate again

I have creobroter pictipennis and I tryed mating her but it failed and the next day she laid a unfertile ooth . I was wondering when can I mate them again.

Preferably after feeding the female well. Or if you have a big screen case, can leave them together with blue bottle flies always available.

Yes but you don't have to wait that long. A day is fine. Females are super hungry after making an ooth so you may just want to wait longer.

You can try again whenever, but give the male and female a little time to calm down (10 minutes or so). I've had males get grabbed by females on their first try but succeed right after on his second try. If shes already laying I wouldn't stuff her too much, otherwise she'll just pop out another ooth in a couple days before you get a chance to successfully mate her.

One more question so if I breed them early will the ooth be smaller cuz my oothec was around 1 1/2in when she laid it.

each preceeding ooth will usually be smaller, not the rule of thumb, but usually.

So I breed my mantis a week ago and she still hasnt laid an ooth.i feed her will to and She look like she want to lay an ooth because she curl her tail to the ground as if she ganna lay an oothec but is she egg bound or does it need more time before she lay an oothec?
