I bought two chinese mantid ootheca's...one hatched about two weeks ago, and the other is yet to hatch! Is it dead? Is there a way to tell? It looks normal. It did say it would take two to six weeks. I think it's been about 3 or 4 weeks. Is this normal?

Thanks!

It could be infertile but just keep it till it hatches. Cross your fingers! These mantids are tricky. :)

Yeah just give it a few months...

P.S. some mantid egg cases REALLY take a while, like B. borealis. Its Ooths have been known to take up to 6 months to hatch.
