Here's an action photo of a whirligig beetle I collected this summer. They did really well on fruit flies.

Hey Peter, do you breed these? I've bred them before and its lots of fun, the larvae are quite interesting looking! Like swimming centipedes lol.

 
My last one just died. You can read a little bit about how I came to collect them in an upcoming (March, I think) issue of Invertebrates Magazine. Yes, Orin...I'm almost done with that article ;) (the first ten pages are always easy...it's just getting it down to a reasonable size that I have trouble with.)

AB...I did find around 20 eggs as I was cleaning out the tank last week. I'm not sure if they'll hatch or not, but I'm crossing my fingers! If you want to see the water beetles in video-clip action, I posted a link a week or two back...here it is again off a new page on my website:
