I found some white spots on the inside of my enclosure. It looks like a dries liquid or something. I was wondering if anyone ever found this also? My mantis was right above it and she is the only one in there so I am assuming it is from her. Not sure if you can see them at the bottom middle of this pic. I hope its not vomit. She did eat two crickets yesterday, which is the most she ate since i had her.

It's just excess moisture. Not vomit. There is nothing to worry about. :)
From the enclosure? I haven't misted it since yesterday morning. It's acually pretty dry in there. It happened within about an hour time frame.

i like that cage....are those woodchips in the bottom?
Yes. It's fir and sphagnum peat moss mix.

Don't worry. It is liquid that is squirted from the rear. I have found that they do it more if they are plump.

Just be careful and aim the mantid's rear away from you if you handle them when they are kind of full. It is no fun to be squirted. :pinch: Also, if a plump mantis falls or jumps onto a hard surface, they can be fatally injured.

Could be from the rear of the mantis, that's a fact? But I've also seen many a juicy feeder burst when eaten like ripe orange or juicy peach, I think it may be feeder juice, lol. :pinch:

I couldn't rule that out if I didn't actually see it happen.

Sometimes prey can be really juicy, like a cherry tomato. Lol

I have seen her squirt liquid from her rear before. That must be it because she is really active right now. She doesn't seem ill or anything.
