Why are my double shields all girls?

I swear, every time I get double shields, there are way more girls than boys! Does anybody know what's up with that? I mean, I'm not complaining!

Just the luck of the draw. Sounds like a good problem to have though. I tend to get primarily males when I buy nymphs of any species; although, when I capture wild mantids I tend to find mainly females, even as sub-adults or smaller nymphs.
