Why does my mantis "like" my hands?

Hi, I'm new to this hobby and proud owner of an L7 hierodula venosa who always seems to gravitate towards my hands. It just made me curious if there's an explanation for that, since I know it's not affection? Is it that my hands are usually moving so she's wondering what the heck is going on?

Your mantis likes your hands because it is a chance to get out of its cage and see something new or move around more. It is perfectly normal and one of the characteristics that marks them as a great pet!
