I bred my male and female Chinese mantids 2 days ago on Wednesday. They successfully mated for around 4 hours. Today my female, Juniper, isn't moving much and her abdomen has been wide open since mating. It also seems a bit bent. I also noticed she has a stuck, soft poop that I removed. In her abdomen it kind of looks like there is a small, clearish ball. Idk if this is part of her body or like a stuck spermatophore from mating.

*Btw her wings are like that from her last molt which wasn't very great

Sorry for the crappy pics

The clearish ball is likely a spermatophore. This is a Galinthias amoena spermatophore.

Females usually eat or drop the spermatophore to the bottom of their cage, so the spermatophore could be causing a blockage because it is stuck.

my mantis had that and it worried me so i sprayed her abdomen with water. it came off and cleared up i half a hour
