Why did you join the forum?

I did because I couldn't catch any flies and needed advice. :lol:

The real reason I joined was after I caught 6 Chinese in a field by me I was hooked, so then I searched around the net and found Bugsincyberspace.com where Peter sold me a bunch of Gongies, he was great at answering all my newbie questions, then I came here of course, so now everybody here has to put up with me as well. inch:

Because people who appreciate insects are hard to come by in the "real" world. Its nice that there is somewhere (even if its just on the internet) that I don't get weird looks and constantly asked why I like insects so much and why in the world I'd want to keep them as pets. Also, there are still SO many other species of mantids I'd like to keep, and here is best place to connect with someone who has them.

I joined because I wanted a mantis. was very close to buying an ooth from a garden center...then saw the exotics that were available so I joined hoping to buy a ghot, violin, orchid or Idolo....decided the Ghost was a good "beginer" species and picked up an L-5 pair...since then have kept a Violin, Creos, "Glass"mantis (Sinomantis denticulata) Sp. Lineola...but Ghosts are so far my fave.
