Well, this may not be exciting for you experienced folk.

But I was thrilled when one of my new nymphs (African budwing) walked onto the back of my hand to grab the cricket I had there.

Then he (I think it was one of the males) just tucked in, right there on my hand!

Sometimes I feed my mantises off my hand for fun so I can get a close up view of them while they munching on their food, little glutons. When I was a kid, I caught an adult chinese female out in the woods, and I used to regularly hand feed her food. One time she was so lazy she even started to eat the cricket while I was still holding it, without bothering to grab it up in her claws.

Yeah!! My Chinese, Orchid, and little new editions to the fam, H.Grandis are all the same way. I slowly begin to handle them only when they were receptive as nymphs right from the start. And all of them are now used to it and will often just set right in on my hand and nap or whatever it is they are doing for hours at a time there!!! I even had a lazy one or two as well. Did not even attempt to grab the food just hung there or sat there munching!!!
