Hi everyone,

My female Iris Oratoria recently laid an ootheca (about three days ago) and I was wondering if any of you could tell me how to care for it. I already know some information, but I've only hatched one ooth before ever, so I need some help  :helpsmilie: How long can I keep in in the refrigerator to delay hatching. How should I hang it so the nymphs come out correctly? Should I mist it? Give it sun? What temperature? It's on a piece of fabric, so I can pin it to anything anywhere.

Also, if anyone could give me pointers on how to care for the ooths of Stagmomantis Limbata, Mantis Religiosa, Tenodera Angustipennis, and Tenodera Sinensis, that would be really appreciated. I'm going to have all those at some point this year or next, and I'd rather not open a seperate thread for each.

Thanks so much!

~Wolfie

You should incubate the ooths until late April to early May. Same care for all other ooths. When in spring, keep in warmth and mist once a day. They should hatch if fertile :)

Thnx for the help everyone!

So when it's in the refrigerator should I mist it sometimes too? :)

Also, sorry Agent A, but I can't send out any mantids :) As you saw on the other thread, my mom won't let me. I should probably put that in my signature so people don't get their hopes up ;)

can peeps send mantises to u? i would think it's more dangerous to have things sent to u than to send them to others but it's your mother's call i guess
