Is it safe to have crickets in the enclosure with ooths?I usually have a couple crickets in with my mantids and was wondering if the crickets would attack the ooth?

I used hot glue to put together some of the elements in my bugs cage and noticed the crickets eating the glue. They are scary.

I've been the "victim" of ooths ravaged by crickets. Although mantis egg cases are tough and durable, a barrage of cricket mandibles will rip them apart.

Yeah. I have heard it said that if you add protein, like cat food, to the crix food, they are less likely to attack mantids or ooths, but why take the chance? BTW, do you guys just leave the ooths in the enclosure where they were laid instead of putting them in a hatching chamber?

To answer your question Phil. I've come home to check up on my mantids and found that some females laid ooths. However there were crickets in the container and they ravaged the ooth before I got home. Also when I go away for long periods of time, I leave infertile ooths in a mantis container so the crickets can chew on them instead of a molting mantis or a fertile ooth. So I never leave ooths in with mantids up until they dry so I can remove them.
