Winter sets in....

It is now winter down here I can not see any of my mantises in my garden. Will they come out in spring?? I really want to see them again!!

Yes. Ootheca overwinter.

Still, it doesnt hurt to look. I always let my native mantids go after my "mantis keeping season" (usualy sometime in October when it gets hard for me to catch enough insects to feed them) and have seen those same mantids hanging around my house in mid-December!
