Zoomed 12” cube terrarium with cork bark background.
wo Phyllocrania Paradoxa nymphs and some petite species of plants that are susceptible to pests, to grow out.
Lid hacked for mosquito netting (JoAnn 10173292). Will redo with 304 SS in time.
Bare floor with weed barrier film wrapped egg crate. Will add live LFS. and bioactive substrate soon.
Thermo/hygrometer is a simple calibrate-able humidor unit.
In the substrate:: Steinernema feltiae (nematodes), and lots of Chrysoperla rufilabris (Green Lace Wing eggs). Plus the Stable, Hydei & Melnogaster glider flies.
I’ll be adding other plants, soon. Hopefully some miniature orchids and air plants, too. Currently there is a miniature Rhaphidophora vine, and Nepenthes pitcher plants. Pitchers from this species are too small to pose a threat to Mantids.
Lighting is a 48” bar style LED. HLG Saber 30W 4000K emitting about 108ppfd. HLG Propagator 30W; for the office plant rack.
Titan Apollo 18 dual outlet timer (discontinued)
Plus the spider wood.
A basic project anyone can do. Thanks to MantisPlace.com for all the good information, and inhabitants.
