    Bee Poll

I've fed an mantid a wasp before, without mutilation. It was pretty "scary", cuz the wasp's abdomen was pulsating in the air, trying to sting my mantis. I guess some mantids mouths aren't as strong as others. If mine can't bite through something, they attempt different angles until they can get...

how big of a bee to feed a mantis

Like Hibiscusmile, I also remove the stingers and usually feed them with forceps. If your mantis is willing and you don't want to take risks, you can kill the bee first before feeding with foreceps. Is ccd still an issue?

    Argh, any advice?

Never posted this before, but I have a "manual" method that I used the last two times I mated my P. ocellata. Simply put, the female is peacefully eating, and the male is minding his own bussiness, when I pick the male up and gently make him walk onto the female when lightly prodding his but...

    What are these?

Why ask when you are unwilling to accept the opinions of everyone? It must mean something if practically every single person posts about it being ff pupae. I'm sure we've cultured a lot of flies, so I think we'd know what they would look like. The pictures you show are of a different type of...

    Acromantis formosana Hatched!!

They sure enjoy eating...They ate soooo much that their abdomen was like 2 times its normal body length, no kidding. It was sooo bloated that I thought they were going to pop. Magically, they molted to L4 and it all disappeared. o.o Magic fat loss.

My hair stands up on end normally. Yep, it's pupae all right. When you have white substrate, and white paper towel, the pupae seem to be red or orange.
