Is anyone using Gryllus assimilis yet?

Ghann's is selling this virus free species, so I wondered if anyone has any experience with using them to

feed their mantids.

I have not bought any yet, but Ghann's is in process of getting rid of old stock and selling only these.

I am waiting to here some positive feedback before I believe their claims.

My LPS sells the black crickets. My mantis havent died from them yet, but they dont love them. I only feed crix when I have to

I think the crickets outside are those crickets. They are common here.

They are fat and do not jump as much as the regular crix,they also make less noise.They just stink....

They do seem to make less noise but they seem to jump just as much as the other crickets.

First I've heard of them being sold commercially. Sounds like a good thing if they're better. I never really had any issues with the other type sold as feeders though.

I want to breed the crickets outside of our house. They look like Gryllus assimilis.
