Phasmomantis sumichrasti in Texas?

Generally, I wouldn't trust too much the information on distributions given by Kirby, because it cannot possibly be traced to the original source. But in this case the distribution partially matches the data in (Ehrmann, 2002), plus Nicaragua, minus Texas. P. sumichrasti definitely inhabits Mexico (the country), but I never heard about its presence in contemporary USA.

Thank you for the explanation and information Dracus. Did Kirby not collect the mantids and save them so they could be looked at later?
