I resigned from crickets and now if I run out of waxmoths I just feed my mantids with roaches. Thea are cleaner I suppose, less casualties and besides they are more durable :)
Now I only feed my mantids with fruitflies, than the lesser waxmoths A. grisea (i noticed you don't breed those and...
In fact... it is about the size of a D. hydei female :) But these little guys can hunt D. melanogaster, so the prey more than half their size :) Of course Bolbena takes all the prizes for the most minute species in culture, but other boxer are not so far behind :D
