I have previously done a lot of resin casting but only on a small matchbox type scale. If it's jewelery casting resin two part that you mix then it produces heat when setting that will discolor the mantis. The bigger it is the more heat will be produced.

I'm sure it's normal, what I meant was I don't understand why the flies wing and body at the very bottom is white as opposed to just OOF. There's a lot I don't understand though :rolleyes:
I think perhaps it is the flash hitting it if that is what was used to create the white background after...

Nice shots man. Can I suggest you try an extension tube set if your serious about quality past 1:1 on that delicious camera and lens? 68mm of extension tubes will give you about 2.3x mag, probably about what your getting and the 100m lens working slightly out of it's designed range is way...
