I have been trying to get my Dessicata to do some threat display without any success. I was waving my hand at it and punching its forearm with my fingers, but it either tries to run away or to climb up my hand..... Anyone got some tips of how to make them doing a threat display? Perhaps I am...

Great job Yen! So the 'Texas unicorn' is finally in culture now! Hopefully in a few years time they will be as accessible as the h. coronatus then? You may even release some back to the wild to pump up the natural population since they are native to Texas?

Thanks for the comment. The funny thing is, the pair of nymphs that I got from Alan is of the opposite color: the male is light brown and the female is dark brown. Anyway I was glad to find out that the female has just laid an ooth on Tuesday morning.

Thanks, I somehow am always lucky to have caught them molting.... Anyway I mated my adult Dessicata pair from Martin this Saturday, the male was staring at the female for hours before making a move, but they mated fine and stayed connected for like 20 hours!
