I've read somewhere on here that crickets fed on carrots can cause mantis deaths, unsure about colour changes though. Does she seem fine otherwise?

Thanks for making a post about this! My mantids are going to be nearing L4 soon so I began looking for some larger feeders for them. I just tried my hand at waxworms but it's not really working out for me it seems. BSF seem like a great alternative. Looking forward to more updates!

These look so cute! Mine look so clinical now, I will definitely add some life to their containers whenever they are bigger. Very cool touch with the mushroom! :)  

Happy to say that one of my ooths hatched on the 10th! One little guy came out, and then an hour later the rest followed. I counted about 30, such a small hatch thankfully! They're all eating well and I separated a few of my favourites in to plastic cups, hoping they all survive! Thank you all...

Glad yours hatched as well! I did the same and separated a few of my favourites in some plastic cups. If you have any pictures of your desk buddy jars I'd love to see! Congrats! :D  

The wait really is awful! I wish these buggers would hurry up lol. Sorry yours did not work out the first time, I have a feeling that if mine aren't hatched by February I will have to start again as well. I wish the best of luck to you! :D
