    Europena mantids wild Los Angeles?

    With carolina females..the wings do not cover the entire body(like buwings) and the Europeans are bigger and have a black spot in the inner part of there arms (close to the top where they are attatched to the thorax)And their wings cover the entire length of their body.

    European mantis

    A lot of the time a bending of the abdomon downwards means she's releasing pheromones to attract a mate. Was she bred successfully? She will still release pheramones after breeding as well...just not as strong. My african mantids are still bending the abs downward and have laid several ooths.

    Ghost mantis question?

    I know Ghosts prefer flying insects to crickets...the movement of a moth or fly will usually stimulate the mantid to strike...I usually try to catch a few oths at night or little butterflies during the day and my Ghosts seem to relish them. Good luck.

    Dead Leaf ooth

    My Dessicata female laid a nice ooth recently after I bred her twice with 2 different males...I'm not sure what are the ideal conditions to successfully hatch the ooth....humidity? Temp? Any help would be great. Steve

    Ooth laying for African mantid

    She still eats like a pig....mainly just crickets since that's what's available to me...sh'es in a bush now that has many branches for her to lay. Maybe the diet of Crickets only is making her ooth-less...lol ...I'll try to see if she will eat some wax worms...maybe that will help with the ooth...

    She's been an Adult for 3 months perhaps....I bred her the 1st time 3 weeks after she had reached maturity...then again a month later.

    I have a female African mantis(S. Centralis)and have since bred her twice with 2 different males...both lasting about a day to complete mating....this was over 2 months ago and she still has not laid an ooth....she's huge and has to be full of eggs...why isn't she laying>? I even put her...
