    every june/july here in southern arizona, we have SEVERAL species of silk moths in flight. people come from all over the US to set up sheets and lights to catch them. mostly, they are going for the rothschildia moth. very amazing insects!

    phyllium

    i am wondering if there are very many people in the US that keep phyllium (leaf insects)?? i know they used to be available YEARS ago. i am interested in getting some of these amazing insects, i just know no source for them. -josh

    P. apache is found in new mexico. in california, they are found most commonly on arctostaphylos (manzanita) and in arizona and new mexico, it is found on prosopis (mesquite) and palo verde. they like the thorn scrub habitat in the southern part of our states. there is another very cool species...

    robo mantis, have you ever considered a colony of pseudomyrmex apache??? i got me a young colony that seems to be doing pretty well. quite a fascinating species. -josh
