You feed all of yours these? It seems like of you properly gut load you really don't have anything to worry about. Most of the flower mantis seems to be picky but I think I should get most other mantis take crawlers. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Males have a spur on the back heels. That's the easiest way to tell. They get mean quick. Keeping them together will also stress the out fast. Stress usually results in darker colors.

I got 10 and all have molted to L3 early this week. No deaths and all of mine are very active and agressive feeders. Did you lose some?

This setup holds steady at 80f with 80% humidity. Slight drop midday to 75% rh. I think it's perfect for high humidity nymphs. Once they get older and less sensitive I think I will pull them out, to make room for more nymphs!

Agreeded. We all manage things according to the standards we choose. Those that I choose I stated above. Everyone sees things differently. "quality of life" I guess we all have our definition. And the bugs are at the mercy of our decisions/definitions
