Thanks Ben, I have some atrificial sticks/branches I place in there but took them out for the photos as they cluttered up the pics quite a bit. I am not sure what they are labeled or sold as...I just waled up and down the craft isle until I found them. There were approx. 8-10 different sizes...

I haven't seen them at any hardware store...I got mine at our local "Hobby Lobby," basically a craft super store...Michael's might carry them???

As promised here are a few pictures and brief descriptions of the housing I am currently using for my mantids. All the housing pictured are acrylic boxes that I purchased at Hobby Lobby…they had numerous sizes (until I cleaned them out, hopefully they will restock soon.) For my L1-L2 Ghost...

Asa, I took a bunch of various pics of my housing setups...should I start a new thread or ust pile them all onto this one? The pics wouldn't seem to have much to do with FF but I don't want to be somone who flods the Forum with hundreds of unwanted new threads/replies. Thanks

My 5th and last Ghost finally competed his 1st molt and now all are L2's. He took almost 2 more complete days under the same feeding and conditions (humidity, amount fed, location of where housing was kept, etc.) Thanks for the encouragement...are your L1, L3 & L4 all from the same hatch...

Well, I will snap some pics of my setup and housing over the weekend, I've done a variety of options and a few of them really turned out nice (to my eye) Lee

Thanks Yen, I suspected the mesh was not containing them...so on one of my houses I added a 2nd layer or mesh that was cut on a cross-hatch or diagonal and hot glued it over the original layer and it seems to have solved the issue. I did just find a source for some no-see-um mesh and placed an...

it is the typical silver aluminum replacement screen you can buy at the hardware store for repairs to windows/doors... even the Melanogaster Fruit Flys can't get out of that?

Yen, yes, I can see the small lobes and even the abdomen seems to have more of a flattened thin edges to it...and I LOVE their long whispy hair like antenea! This is one fascinating hobby! I'm still waiting on the all the Unicorns to molt...

can the Hydei Fruit Flys squeeze out of a screened top? seems the almost fit through the screen holes and I am occasionally finding them in places I don't recall feeding the nymphs. I would imagine the smaller Melanogaster Fruit Flys will definately crawl through the screen tops and should...
