    nymph molting, and carolina ooths

    does anyone know the time span between chinease mantis molts? they have been at l2 for awhile now. also do carolina ooths take longer to hatch 70%of my chinease ooths have hatched but none of the carolina this is the first time ive tried hatching carolina ooths

    Here are a few pictures of some of my mantids i will try and get some new ones later like the male Carolina most of these are of Chinease mantises, but a few are Carolina.

    okay, i have two questions. [1].- how many ooths can a chinease and a carolina lay in thier life time. [2].- how long until they lay an egg after they mate (chinease and carolina.)

    Well two of my chinese are mating right now :D he was flying at first she was eating a grasshopper when i put him in there so i just waited a while in within 5 mins. he started to get intrested. i wish you luck :P

    lol yea, one of my chinese mantids(full grown) do that all the time..jumped on my face a few times wich is kinda freaky in my opinion.

    well my favorite is the chinese mantis. and they look so cool as an adult with the green line running down the wing and they look cool even in brown.

    well the mantis dosn't apear to be bothered by it and it just try's walking normally like it has no clue what is wrong.

    well he says he didnt notice it right after it molted. and hes not sure if the black is spreading but it appears to be.

    yea i find them in weedy areas about waist heigth its a short walk from my house and is covered with chinese.

    You'll want to know that just like keeping a wild bird as a pet, if you only feed the mantids the raw meat from a string, there's a good chance that when released to the wild, they won't do well fending for themselves. (They will, however, be much more apt to adapt due to instinct.) More...
