    Mantids confiscated?

So you'll understand why I make my inquiries with mantis collectors like yourselves ;) I don't see any point in making the government aware of my mantids by asking them questions. how do they know to check the packages though? IS there random searches if the packages are certain sizes?

    MEGA MANTIS Mega Update (Videos)

way smaller then the female by the looks of it. The female mega mantis is the biggest mantis there is that breeders have ever had right?

this thread in no way states or implies me having illegal mantids. The two I do have are egyptian , and my query's were in regards to HOW someone would even know you have them. Rick if you would like an example, then I will tell you that I just recently read about someones mail containing...

    Mating . . . twice? once?

Unfortunately Rick, when I was taking some dead cricket remains out of godfreys cage he crawled out. As usual, I put my finger in front of him and waited for him to reach out. Instead, after a few seconds, he just flew off. I saw him fly into the bedroom and pursued immediately , but have had no...

What to expect with each instar?

if you don't know if it's a subadult just look at the wings. They shouldn't be fully developed , but there should be small wingbuds.

    Mantids confiscated?

I've been reading a good few posts and discussions about the feds getting search warrants and confiscating mantids. I'm just wondering, how would they know?? Are most of the people on the forum breeders that advertise exotic species? How could they even find out about your pets ? Sorry if I...

    All mantis species illegal (Canada)?

Of course rick. Though the fact of the matter remains. Why sell egyptians and no others? I'm going to have to " bug " them about this one for sure , it just doesn't make sense.

    All mantis species illegal (Canada)?

Petland is a well trusted company , and combining a few other stores , getting this in writing is unnecessary. All I know is that here, it's only egyptians . . . Trust me, this makes no more sense to me then it does to you

    All communal Mantids

so males + females = cannibalism If I am to have a communal set up , I should just make it a "male community " ? what about females and females together?
  19. Ricardo

    Idolomantis Diabolica

yep! Man they have to be the greatest looking mantids around once they reach adulthood!
  20. Ricardo

    All communal Mantids

alright. but I already have a very nice setup for the two , so I won't put them together until I receive some more mantids , or at least put them together once I need room for the others :P what has been your favorite communal species so far?
