That's about the same time mine keep staying on for. So they are probably mated. But it can't hurt to mate them again. The spermataphore looks like a pearly whitish glob inside the females abdomen end. It is not always visible. And sometimes the female will eat it before you can see it.

Those temperatures are not too bad depending on what species you have of course. If the species you have need higher then low 70s then yes you will want it a bit warmer. What species is it? That will help determine what requirements are needed to keep it healthy. A small heat lamp could work...

Yes, I did get them to mate. Just takes time and patience and some effort. After you separate them then wait at least two days or so then feed everyone well and then try to mate them again. Hopefully it will work. Also try different males as one male may just not want to mate yet or something...

She's a Panther mantis. I don't think its dietary as she has a good diet. I guess my concern would be the eggs drying out or something but I will try to hatch them. Not sure if anything will come of it though. And hopefully next ooth she lay's will be normal!

So I just had a female mantis lay eggs but she did not cover it in the protective ooth layer. There is a tiny section with the foam but the rest she just laid straight eggs. Very strange and I am not sure why she would do that. Is there anything that can be done with the unprotected eggs? Like...

It is possible the males are confused with all the pheromones so close by. I have had the same problem with Chinese before too. Or as suggested the females are not ready yet and not calling yet. But if they are calling, you could remove the males to a different room and or floor to desensitize...

Moths attracted to the black light are a great feeding source. Provided you are sure there are no pesticides nearby to infect the moths! I would stay away from Ladybugs and lacewings as both of those insects are beneficial for gardens. Also mantises don't typically eat beetles so Ladybugs...
