    Ghost mantis ooth help

I like to glue the stick to the lid, it gets the ooth pointing straight down. However if you can fit the stick in at an angle that can work too. I would guess a spraying twice a week if it's in your house under a heat lamp - but I would recommend you buy a $4 humidity meter so you can be sure...

    Ghost mantis ooth help

How long between this mating attempt and the ooth being laid? When I read this it sounds like the next day or something - which would make the answer simple. Glue the ooth to a cloth lid, put some excelsior in the cup, and try to hold the temp and humidity at 80f and 60% respectively. 80/60...

    MWAInverts

Bought 1,000 roaches. He deals through Etsy but I can say that process was fine. Registered, bought his "custom order" he created on there, and paid with major cc. Great communication, and plenty of extras on top of the promotional over count. Price was a tad high compared to some online...

    Hestiasula major care sheet?

The only common name I can reliably find for Hestiasula major is "Indian Unicorn Boxer Mantis" which is quite fitting, but they will never be giants. They will get to be a few inches long, if you have Creos I'd put them somewhere around there. For the genus they might be large, I'm not sure...

    Possible case of parthenogenesis

Small correction, I'm not saying females intentionally hold their ooth saying "sure hope a male comes around soon", but for example I have about a dozen female chinese right now, all molted within the same couple of weeks... and the only ones who have laid any ooths are the ones who have been...

    Possible case of parthenogenesis

So I have an Acromantis formosana adult female. She molted to adult 10 days ago... and laid an ooth last night. She hasn't been mated (I've had her for three instars and don't even have a male formosana). What I find odd is to lay so fast if not fertilized. In my experience females hold...

    Decorated for Halloween

Like the feeders didn't have reason enough to be terrified. From a funny video: "When a ladybug sees our horror movies, it says 'Pfff you should try spending a day with a mantis'"

    Is this a Carolina mantis?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Litaneutria_minor claims "[Litaneutria minor is] Canada's only native mantis" Creative use of the word "native", bad info, or is this perhaps right? I've heard Canada disallows essentially all mantids due to lack of natives - including M. religiosa...

    Why does my face tingle...

While that sounds badass, I suspect it's really just an ominous way of saying whenever mites get in your cultures you throw the cultures away :P If you have a secret to extermination, please share.

    Why does my face tingle...

Anti mite paper has worked well for us. Lay the paper down on a shelf, then put your cultures on it. If somehow one culture gets infested they can't spread to the others, and once your cultures are free of mites, no mites can enter. Something like this...

    Who likes Miomantis binotata?

Absolutely. FWIW my binotatas are aggressive hunters too, a little timid with people but they are opening up.
