I got a tattoo I've been planning for a year to get!
As you can see, I had the time of my life:

But the tattoo looks fabulous!!:

My husband designed it, and the tattoo artist who put it in my flesh was fabulousss. He got it done in about two hours (!!) and the place was mega impressive looking, super zen. It also had a little indoor pond with live turtles that I lovingly harassed while waiting for the stencil to be drawn up.

Getting the tattoo was not that painful, the guy was so good at doing the thing, I didn't shed a single tear :D However, I don't think I could ever recommend getting tattooed anywhere near the armpit, omfg. That, and the bit that branches over right above the armpit were the who only spots the really hurt.

Once it heals, the whole thing will be black and white...the red you see here is just really angry hemoglobin...

Wow that's amazing! The red actually looks good :p Maybe you should get it colored! ^^

I always wanted a tattoo too... I'm too much of a chicken to ever get one though haha.

hehe if you get it in a place that's naturally got a lot of meat (like the thighs), it actually doesn't hurt too much! My first tattoo is a little, two inch long bumble bee, drawn in the same style as these mantises--and it was done on my thigh. A great place to get a first tattoo, imo.
Now I just want to be covered in these stylistic little bugs, I love them so ; A;
This tat hurt quite a bit more than the first one, gotta admit. Back and arms, when you're a scrawny little twig like me, are not good places to get your first tat. I wouldn't recommend it, anyways.

But be careful if you do decide to get a tattoo one day! They're addictive * n*!!! You'll find they're kinda like mantises, you can't have just one...
