    Exo terra for gongylodes?

I find that personally violins do great in a net cage setup. Kept them 90 and sprayed daily.

Welcome home, mantis 1 and mantis 2

Well you can only count the segments from the underside. And you have to be sure to count the ones that are completely underneath the abdomen.  Once a mantis reaches its final molt they will get wings and for the wings to sit right, their abdomen must as well.

Welcome home, mantis 1 and mantis 2

Well if they have 6 then they might be females. I wasn’t able to see and count all the segments from the pics.. I was just looking at the end segments.

Welcome home, mantis 1 and mantis 2

Hm for some reason these are difficult for me. Pretty sure thing 2 is a male. Thing 1 is harder to tell but still looks like a male to me. Hopefully some other peeps can chime in for ya.

Strange Behavior/Expelling Strange Liquid from Hierodula Membranacea

Hm I’ve never seen this happen but my guess is that it is sick. I’m not trying to be morbid but I would prepare yourself for it not making it. Try hand feeding some honey and maybe flies if it is feeling it.

Welcome home, mantis 1 and mantis 2

They should be easily sexable right now. If you want to post pics I could let you know what they are.

Welcome home, mantis 1 and mantis 2

I love their coloration! My L5 female is a orangish purple... this species is so pretty! As the others said yours should be L5 if you got them at L2. Best of luck with them!

    Frozen ootheca?

Your ooth is fine in the mail. Just remember... there are ooths of that species outside right now in the freezing weather! When it gets there just stick it in the fridge till spring. Just be sure to give it a spray once a week.

My flightless fruit flies are no longer flightless... Help?! How do I feed my mantis now?

I’d recommend to get BB flies ASAP. They are much bigger therefore you are able to feed less often. The pupae can survive really low temps so you most likely won’t even need a heat pack if you ship them. And you don’t reallt have to deal with moving food because you can just put pupae in the...

    Ghost mantis wings deformed

Hard to say. Things like this happen occasionally with even the best hobbiests. That’s the one thing with this hobby that I hate... there are a lot of mysteries. When something goes wrong a lot of the times I don’t know what I did wrong. Which sucks cause I don’t want to make the same mistake...

    Ghost mantis wings deformed

Hmm sorry to hear about the complications. Not sure what the bubble is... could be insect blood(blanking on the scientific name), some type of wing fluid, maybe just a bubble with no fluid. I would leave him for a while and see what happens. Nature has her thing for working stuff out: for the...

    Hello :)

@Vitor sorry for not getting back to you... I didn’t see your response. Not sure why I had aggression to be honest. It was a while back so I don’t remember much. I was probably just more paranoid then anything. Just be sure to feed often!
