My adult Orchid female passed away randomly after going on a food strike. I now have 2 extra adult males. Mostly looking for a adult female Orchid but if you need my males we can figure something out. Thanks! Located in OH/USA

@Jessie actually crickets are fine for a mantis. You just have to feed them well and quarantine them if you get them from the pet store.

Yeah happens to me all the time. Makes me quite frustrated lol. My Lineola female will chew holes in my net cages.... 

Try the smallest food you can find and try and feed him. Or you can squish a little fruitfly and try and hand feed him. If he is drinking just spray and give him some water until he stops drinking. Enclosures should be 3x the length of the mantis height wise and 2x the length of the mantis width...

Well as long as you beef it up before you go it should be fine for a week.

That’s so exciting! Congratulations! Giant Asians are pretty hardy so I wouldn’t be too paranoid about the conditions... keep just above room temp, spray every other day or so, feed the same frequency as misting. Since there is such a giant hatch with this species be sure to expect a large death...

Feed her a lot before you go to where she is really plump and she should be fine(I remember that she was a older nymph right(?))... just make sure to spray her good before you leave.  If you have fly pupae you can always leave those in her enclosure... they hatch in 1-4 days.

@Salmonsaladsandwich @CosbyArt I wonder how painful their bite is.... I imagine much worse than a bee sting but anything you can compare to? I was thinking of getting some horridas but kinda drawn back because of the venom. Beautiful creatures though.

Thanks for the offer though I’ll be fine. I personally don’t use houseflies much as they are kinda a middle man. Plus I dont breed flies.
